Candidate for DuPage County Circuit Court Judge
Mia is a highly respected attorney with more than 23 years of legal experience. She began her career in 1998 as an Assistant Public Defender in DuPage County, representing thousands of indigent clients in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases. She has served the citizens of Elmhurst, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Westmont and Wayne as a Prosecutor, and currently presides over Administrative Adjudication Hearings for municipal law violations in Woodridge and Wayne. Through a unanimous decision by the justices of the Illinois Supreme Court, Mia was appointed as a circuit judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court. She begins her appointment on October 24, 2022.
Mia provides impassioned representation for clients in family law cases, handling complex issues of parenting time, child support and property distribution. She is dedicated to advocating on behalf of clients facing criminal and juvenile charges, looking to the root of their behavior, and guiding them towards a better path. With her extensive and varied trial experience in both the civil and criminal courtrooms of DuPage County, she is well-prepared to serve the DuPage County community and the cause of justice as a Circuit Court Judge.
